I think I've got 3 ideas for the Time Art major project. Am I proud about them? Hum… not really.
It always happens to me… when I see myself in an uncomfortable situation, time seems to pass more slowly. Occasions that I'm inside an elevator with people who I don't know might be the best example, too cliche though. I want to use the loop in a way that when people watch the 3 screens, they wouldn't note the beginning and ending of the films. Maybe, using real actors and filming the scene would be the best choice, but it is not how I've chosen to do it; I want to combine cutouts and motion graphics instead.
The lack of time / haste in today's society - For me, this is more evident when people are either going to work or coming back from it. People running in order not to miss their train or/and bus is something that has always drawn my attention. I want to film real people running; and to build tension I want to play some of the material in slow motion. Combining the video with cutouts would be something to think about.
To explore the feeling of time according to someone's age. Time when I was a child seemed to pass much more slowly than today. In fact, this is something that has been affecting me negatively. I believe that as one gets older, time passes more quickly. No idea how I could develop this idea onto a 3 screen piece….yet.
